Terms of Use
Simple terms for using Calendar Time Logger.
These terms cover the Calendar Time Logger apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, and this website. They're written to be read, not skimmed past.
1Acceptance of terms
Calendar Time Logger is developed by Abir Barman ("I", "me"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2Use of Calendar Time Logger
Calendar Time Logger helps you record work sessions, review them, and add finished sessions to Apple Calendar. You may use it for personal or professional purposes, provided you use it lawfully and don't try to interfere with other people's use of Apple services or devices through it.
The app is a tool for keeping your own records. Durations, totals, analytics, and exports are calculated from the times recorded on your devices. You're responsible for checking that the records are right before relying on them, for example for billing, payroll, or compliance.
3License to use the application
Calendar Time Logger is proprietary software. It is licensed, not sold, under the Calendar Time Logger Proprietary Software License, which gives you a limited right to install and use copies you obtain from the App Store or another authorized source, for personal use or your own work. It doesn't allow you to copy, modify, redistribute, or commercially exploit the software without written permission. If these terms and the license differ on what you may do with the software, the license applies.
If you get the app from the App Store, your use of that copy is also subject to the App Store's terms, including Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless a separate agreement is provided with the app. Nothing in these terms or the license takes away rights those terms give you.
4Your data
Your templates, work logs, notes, and settings belong to you. They're stored on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud database. I don't receive or own them. How they're handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important, for example by exporting your work logs to Excel. Deleting data in the app, deleting the app, or changes to your iCloud account can remove data, and I can't recover it for you.
5Calendar and device permissions
Some features need permissions you grant through your device: Calendar access to add finished sessions to Apple Calendar, notifications for session reminders, and Live Activities on iPhone. Each is optional, and the app keeps recording work without them. You can change these permissions at any time in your device's settings.
When Calendar access is on, the app writes events to the calendar you choose and only ever updates or removes events it created. Events in calendars that belong to other accounts, such as Google or Exchange, are then subject to those accounts' terms.
6iCloud and synchronization
Sync between your devices uses Apple's iCloud and the direct connection between iPhone and Apple Watch. It requires your devices to be signed in to the same Apple Account, enough iCloud storage, and a network connection. Sync depends on Apple's services, so I can't guarantee that changes arrive at any particular time or that sync is always available. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple's iCloud terms.
7Availability and service changes
Calendar Time Logger is coming soon to the App Store. I may change, add, or remove features, change which devices and system versions are supported, or stop offering the app, at any time. Because your data is stored on your devices and in your iCloud rather than on my servers, the app is designed to keep working with the data you already have.
8Updates
I may release updates to fix problems, improve the app, or keep it working with new versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS. Updates may be delivered through the App Store, and some may be needed to keep using every feature, such as sync between devices running different versions.
9Intellectual property
Calendar Time Logger, including its source code, design, documentation, the Calendar Time Logger name, and the CTL logo, is owned by Abir Barman: copyright © 2026 Abir Barman, all rights reserved, except for third-party material, which belongs to its owners. You receive only the rights the license grants. You may not use the Calendar Time Logger name or the CTL logo for other software, or in a way that suggests I endorse something.
This website, including its text, design, screenshots, and code, is also my property. You're welcome to read it, link to it, and quote it with attribution; please don't copy it wholesale or reuse its design or code without permission.
Apple, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, iCloud, and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Calendar Time Logger is designed for the Apple ecosystem but is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Apple.
10Third-party services
The app works with services provided by Apple, such as iCloud, Calendar, notifications, and the App Store, and with any calendar accounts you've added to your device. Those services are provided under their own terms, and I'm not responsible for them. The app contains no third-party code and no other third-party services. Third-party software used to build this website remains under its own licenses, as listed on the License page.
11Disclaimer
Calendar Time Logger is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows. I work to make the app reliable, but I don't promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that recorded times, sync, Calendar events, or exports will always be complete or accurate.
12Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost time, arising from your use of the app or this website or your inability to use them, even if I've been told such damages are possible.
Some places don't allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.
13Indemnification
To the extent the law allows, you agree to be responsible for, and to compensate me for, claims and costs that arise from your misuse of the app or your violation of these terms or of the law.
14Termination
You can stop using Calendar Time Logger at any time by deleting it from your devices. Your rights under these terms end if you break them. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as the disclaimer and limitation of liability, continue after that. If the license terminates, you must stop using the software as it describes. Earlier versions you received under the MIT License remain governed by that license.
15Changes to these terms
I may update these terms as the app changes. When I do, I'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. If you keep using the app after an update takes effect, the updated terms apply to that use.
16Governing law
The governing law and venue for these terms haven't been specified yet; this section will be updated when they are. Until then, nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the laws that apply to you.
